Keeping Busy

Ok here we go! I'm going to try and add a few more posts ;)

Our little family has been sick with one thing after another these past two months. Its really tiring. Last night I had a late night trip to the ER because of horrible horrible sinus pain. At least I think it was sinus pain. I ended up leaving without seeing a doctor because during the 3 hour wait I started to feel better.

Thankfully I've been sewing a bit lately and I think its the only thing keeping me sane :) Just looking at all the beautiful fabric cheers me right up. I've been working on baby gift sets with fabric that isn't too babyish. Eye candy for the mom :)

I put together little shoes for one gift set. Aidan and I giggled at this step. We decided that the shoes looked like little bugs :) haha Don't see it? The pins are its legs... lol

I've changed the shape of the burp cloths I'm making. I think people like these better then the curved ones. And I will admit they're easier to make too.

The finished gift set, with a nice blanket that will last the baby into toddler years, a set of three burp pads and little tiny shoes. Hope everything gets a lot of use!

Now time to get back to work! And go to the doctor (not so much fun)

Sick Halloween Bat

Lately I've been feeling sick. The kind where my whole body just aches, I'm really tired, cranky, and I can't concentrate on anything (probably cause of the tired part).

I have so much to do but I can't seem to get anything done. The boys have a doctors appointment today to get their flu vaccines. Something that's very important for Dylan since he's allergic to ibuprofen and fevers can be a very serious thing for him. But since I'm feeling so crummy I keep thinking of calling and canceling. But of course I wont.

With Halloween coming up I've had so many craft ideas to do with the boys. I even went as far as to buy everything we'll need to do these crafts. We finally got something done! A banner with bats! It took a few days to get done. I really wanted to let Aidan help instead of just watching.

He was so proud when we finally hung it up on the stairs. Of course now that its been there for a day or two I'm already looking around to where we can move it. It just doesn't look right on the stairs.

The weather here has been insanely hot these past few days. Yesterday it was 113 in LA! How can it be so hot in the fall!? Oh yeah that's right. This is southern California....its hot all year long. If it wasn't for my family all living around here I don't think I'd stay another year.

The crafts I had planned for Aidan and I will have to be put on hold until we can stand to actually be outside during daylight hours. Too bad because I was getting pretty excited about what we were going to be doing next :)

This weekend is craft camp! I have no idea what I'm going to be working on but just the thought of hanging out with all these other crafters is making me excited. I love seeing what other people are working on. Which reminds me I need to go shopping for little gifts. And I have an auction item to get done in the next few days...even if I don't know what that item will be lol

And for some reason I can't delete this extra photo at the bottom! So enjoy seeing Aidan's happy face again ;)

Practice Scarf

I started a scarf meant for a preschool aged child. Love the colors, love the yarn. But when I held it up to Aidan I realized that it was way too thick. Drives me crazy that I'm more then half way done and I realize the mistake. Oh well....he'll just have to wear it no matter what. Lesson learned :P
